Baudouin M33 Gas Genset Parts: What Fits 6M33NG, 12M33NG and 16M33NG

Baudouin M33 gas generator parts are easy to get wrong, because one platform hides three engines. The 6M33NG, 12M33NG and 16M33NG share most of their architecture, yet their wear parts split by cylinder count, and the gas versions carry a whole layer of consumables the diesel M33 never had. This guide lists the exact Baudouin part numbers for the parts that actually wear: plugs, coils, filters, gaskets, belts, pumps and bearings. Bring your rating plate code and you can order everything on this page without calling a dealer.

Quick Answer: Most wear parts on the M33 gas family are shared across models, but the part number usually splits by cylinder count. Spark plug 1001392970 fits 6, 12 and 16M33NG. Oil filter cartridge 1004033672 covers 12M33NG and 16M33NG; the 6M33 takes 1004033673. Head gaskets are 330201000501 (6M33 family) and 331008000483 (12M33 family). Gas-only parts include ignition coil 1002254991 and gas filter 1002480574. To order, send the model code from your rating plate (for example 12M33G6N0/5), the part number, and the quantity.

What Does "M33" Tell You About the Parts You Need?

Baudouin builds the M series around per-cylinder displacement. The number after the M is roughly the displacement of one cylinder in liters, so an M33 moves about 3.3 L per cylinder. In front of it sits the cylinder count: 6, 12 or 16. NG means natural gas. Behind that comes the rating code. G stands for genset, N0 for natural gas and B0 for biogas, while /5 and /6 mark 50 Hz and 60 Hz markets. A plate reading 12M33G6N0/5 is a 12-cylinder gas genset engine of roughly 40 L, built for a 50 Hz market.

Version codes matter as well. The .2 and .3 suffixes separate mechanical and electronic fuel-control generations, and some gasket and sensor numbers changed between them. The rating plate on an M33 packs cylinder count, fuel, application and frequency into about a dozen characters, and every one of those characters can change the part number you need. Photograph that plate before you request a quote: it maps your engine to one page of one parts book.

Which Wear Parts Exist Only Because Your Genset Runs on Gas?

A diesel squirts fuel into hot compressed air, and it ignites on its own. A gas engine mixes fuel with air upstream, meters that mixture with a throttle, and lights it with a spark plug. That difference creates the entire gas-specific wear list: spark plugs, ignition coils and cables, the electronic throttle, the gas mixer, and the gas filter in the fuel train. None of these have a diesel M33 equivalent, which is exactly why diesel-experienced workshops understock them.

The numbers are unforgiving on continuous duty. A site where an M33NG racks up more than 6,000 hours a year treats spark plugs as a 1,000 to 1,500 hour consumable, so a single 12M33NG burns through close to 60 plugs a year. The core gas parts:

  • Spark plug 1001392970, fitted across 6M33NG, 12M33NG and 16M33NG
  • Spark plug insulator 1006049528 for 16M33G6N0/5
  • Ignition coil 1002254991 for 16M33NG
  • Electronic throttle 612600190504, plus the gas mixer / pre-mixer ahead of the turbo
  • Gas filter in the fuel train, 1002480574 for 12M33NG and 16M33NG

The electronic throttle 612600190504 fits both the M33 gas family and the Weichai WP12 gas engine, one of the clearest traces of the Weichai Group engineering behind Baudouin since the 2009 acquisition.

How Baudouin Part Numbers Are Built

Three families cover almost everything on this page. Numbers starting 100 or 101 are service and consumable parts: filters, spark plugs, pumps, sensors. Numbers starting 330 or 331 are structural engine parts: gaskets, bearings, valves, springs. Numbers in the 6126 range are Weichai common assemblies, such as the electronic throttle 612600190504 and the charging alternator 612600090762.

Treat the prefix as a strong hint, never as proof. Two nearly identical filter cartridges can sit in the same family under different digit runs, and a 6M33 cartridge fitted to a 12M33 can bypass part of the oil flow. Always match the full number, not the prefix.

Which Diesel M33 Parts Fit the Gas Version, and Which Never Do?

The M33 is one platform, so some parts cross the fuel divide. Water pumps and drive belts often carry diesel and gas variants under neighboring numbers, and the head gasket families span the 8M33, 12M33 and 20M33 diesel engines too.

The fuel side never crosses. Diesel fuel filters such as 1000816697 or 1004780544 belong to the diesel and dual-fuel fuel line only, and the gas head runs its own valves, springs and plugs. The working rule for a mixed fleet: cooling and drive parts usually cross, fuel and ignition parts never do.

How Should a Workshop Stock M33 Spares?

Baudouin rates gensets three ways, and the plain-language version is short. COP means continuous power: run it around the clock, no overload allowed. PRP means prime power: daily use with an average load around 70 percent plus limited overload windows. ESP means emergency standby: it starts when the grid fails and runs a limited number of hours. Annual hours can differ by a factor of ten between a COP cogeneration site and an ESP standby set, so one stocking plan never fits both.

  • COP site: plugs on a 1,000–1,500 hour interval, roughly two full filter sets per engine per year, and one water pump plus belt set on the shelf for every three engines.
  • PRP site: one filter set per engine per year, plugs at every second major service.
  • ESP fleet: one annual maintenance kit per unit, plugs every other year, and a shared gasket and sensor set for the whole fleet, since failures are calendar-driven rather than hour-driven.

For a COP site, filters alone run to about two full sets per engine per year, which is why 12M33NG operators usually buy filter cartridges by the case rather than one at a time.

Get a quote in one message. Send three things: the model code from your rating plate (for example 12M33G6N0/5), the part number from the tables above or a photo of the old part, and the quantity. That is all we need to quote. If your plate is hard to read, photograph it and send that instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Baudouin and Weichai part numbers interchangeable?
Only the 6126-range assemblies are genuinely shared, such as throttle 612600190504 and charging alternator 612600090762. Everything in the 100 and 330/331 families is Baudouin-specific, and a Weichai number will not map across without a cross-reference.

Do the 12M33NG and 16M33NG use the same filters?
Yes. The oil filter cartridge 1004033672, air filter 1000294685 and gas filter 1002480574 are shared. Gaskets and bearings sit in different digit runs, so order those against the exact model code.

Where do I find the model code?
On the engine data plate and the genset rating plate, in the format 16M33G6N0/5. Photograph it and send the photo with your inquiry if you are unsure.

Can I fit diesel M33 parts to my gas engine?
Cooling and drive parts usually cross. Anything in the fuel line or the ignition system never does.

How often should spark plugs be changed?
Every 1,000 to 1,500 hours on continuous duty, or about once every two years on standby. Misfire under load means replace them now, not at the next service.
